New Business

  1. 2024 RAMS Officer Nominations are now open.  Please consider serving as a RAMS Officer for the coming year.  Officer Duties are outlined in the RAMS Directory.

Nominations made at the October Meeting are:

President - Greg LieVan (Nominated by Butch Turner, Seconded by Spencer Bennett)

Vice-President - Herb Anderson (Nominated by Steve Clark, Seconded by Rose-Anne Bennett)

Secretary/Treasurer - Spencer Bennett (Nominated by Steve Clark, Seconded by Paul Whitworth)

2. Tent at the RA National

The RAMS paid for a Shelter Tent at the RA National Rally in Davis, WV this past month. When the members arrived, there was no tent.  Herb Anderson contacted me on Friday to make me aware of this and I contacted the Tent Supplier.  After a while they returned my call and said that they had put up the tentand did not understand the issue.  After a couple of conversations, the crew manager told me that his crew had installed the shelter tent where the RA Person (no name or title) told them to put it.  After some further discussion, I think it was installed somewhere near the Airheads Tent.  In any case, the company said they installed the tent where the RA person told them to put it and they are not refunding our money.

Lesson here is "It's the RA" and we need to make sure that we have "on site" representation at their events in time to make sure this sort of issue does nt come up again.  In the past, this has been accomplished by a RAMS Officer arriving on Wednesday and checking to make sure all is as it should be, and getting involved if it is not. We need to consider this next year so as not to make a $532.00 mistake again. By the way, the RAMS Campsite was clearly signed in the designated Chartered Club Camping Area.

3. Club Trailer

Paul Whitworth, long time custodian of the RAMS Trailer, will be moving in the Spring and will not be taking the trailer with him to North Carolina.  This brings up the question of "What to do with the trailer?"  Several points were brought up concerning it and they are listed below:

Do we need the trailer?

It is currently used primarily to store the Coffee Pot and we do not use the Coffee Pot since we no longer conduct a Rally.

Are we ever going to do another Rally?  If not, why keep the Coffee Pot?

Should we combine forces with another Club to assist them with their Rally and offer them the Coffee Pot?  Ray Moss suggested that the Nashville Club, of which he is a member, might be interested and said he would check with their officers and report back to us.

Please consider this issue and plan to attend the November Meeting if you have any interest in the fate of the trailer and the Coffee Pot.

5. Several members suggested that the RAMS should confer a Lifetime Membership on Marshall Robilio for all of the assistance and support he has given to the RAMS and to individual members over the years he has been a member.  Steve Clark made a formal motion, Butch Turner seconded it and it was approved unanimously by those RAMS present.  The Secretary/Treasurer was directed to procure and appropriate plaque and card to present tp Marshall, probably at the Christmas Party.
