Quote from Spencer Bennett on March 18, 2026, 3:15 pmBMW RAMS March Meeting Minutes
March 14, 2026
20 RAMS and 6 bikes were present.
Call to Order:
Meeting was called to order at 1 pm by President Herb Anderson at the home of George Brewton and Sam Cox.
- We have no new members for this month.
- We have 45 returning members for 2026. (2026 Dues Paid)
- We had no guests this month.
- Thanks to meeting host: George Brewton & Sam Cox.
Old Business:
- The 990 N Federal Tax Statement has been filed for 2025.
- . If you would like a RAMS patch, sticker, or business cards please see Spencer.
- If you need to update your Directory picture please see Rosey or Spencer Bennett. The updating of the Directory led into a discussion about several RAMS Members who could not be contacted, even though they had paid dues ahead in past years, Rosey said that she will continue to try and contact them and get their information verified or updated if needed.
New Business:
- The RAMS Directory has been revised by Rosey and is now back on line. Access directions have been sent to all members. Rosey asked for some time to discuss the Directory and the Mailing List and the types of communications that are available to our Members.
- Rosey passed out handouts that outlined the the various means of communications available to the RAMS through our web site, facebook page, calendar, and Forum. The Google calendar, available through the web site can be merged with the individual Google calendars to permit each member to have notification of all events posted on the calendar, or to post individual events that they wish to share. The Forum, available on the web site, provides a venue to post trip reports, buy or sell items, or communicate with other members in a relatively secure manner. Postings are public, but responses can only be made if you are a member and signed in. PLEASE NOTE: this system has not had any new postings, other than meeting minutes, in over four years. The private RAMS Facebook page is still up and allows for communication among members who have Facebook accounts. The RAMS Public Facebook account is open to all, but with Moderators who screen new members and also must approve posts from non-members or from very large lists. Jimmie Smith and George Brewton volunteered to be added as moderators for the public site so as to improve communications flow. This will be set up by Rosey in the coming week.
- After some discussion, it was decided that a QR code should be added to the RAMS Business Cards. Rosy will add this and Spencer will get some additional cards printed for members use.
- The RAMS Mail List was discussed along with access and deletions of members and the importance of the different reply modes and the limitations on attachment sizes for incoming mail.
VP Corner:
- George Brewton asked if anyone could lead the Memphis RAMS Ride to Boyette's Dining Room in Tiptonville, TN on April 4, 2026. He is scheduled to be on call that weekend and does not think he will be able to get someone to cover for him. Paul Whitworth said he would lead if he is in town at that time.
