July 2024 Meeting Minutes

July 13, 2024

Call to Order at 1:11 pm by President Greg LieVan at the home of Herb & Reno Anderson iin Puryear, TN.

 

16 RAMS and 15 Bikes present.  Thanks to Paul Whitworth for taking the minutes at the meeting as your Secretary/Treasurer was unable to attend due to family issues.

  1. We have 2 new members for this month.

George Brewtom & Samantha Cox who live in Millington, TN and ride an R1150 GS and an R850 R.

  1. We have 56 new and returning members for 2024.

  1. Spencer is working on getting business cards printed but has been occupied with some personal issues.

Barber Vintage Festival

October 11-13, 2024

Leeds, AL.

If you have not been to this event in the past, Herb Anderson recommends that you make it a point to watch the Sidecar Races on Friday and Saturday.  One of the few places you can see this sport in our area.

VP Corner

Herb Anderson discussed a possible RAMS camp out for 2025 to be held at the Big Eagle Base Camp located in Paris Landing State Park.  He encouraged all to look at it online.  He proposed a ride to the park after the meeting adjourned.
Herb also provided the following information about the Big Eagle Base Group Campsite:
Big Eagle Base Group Campsite is an approximately 2.5-acre tent camping area situated on the shores of Kentucky Lake.  It features almost 700 feet of lake frontage and the majority of the camp area is grassy open space.
Nightly rates vary based on date and availability.
Applicable taxes and fees applied at checkout.  The $5 reservation fee per site is non-refundable.
Amenities include a bathhouse with showers, a picnic shelter, three fire-rings, a large charcoal grill, and a kayak/canoe launch.  Limited water and electricity are available on site.  This site will accommodate groups of up to 50 people or approximately 40 tents.

Old Business.

  1. Paul Whitworth made a motion to empty the trailer and sell it.  Seconded by Bryan Leonard.  Motion passed.
  2. Jeremy Blankenship made a motion to negotiate the price with Paul Whitworth and sell the trailer to Paul Whitworth.  Seconded by Bruce Ottway.  Motion passed.
  3. Paul Whitworth is going to ship the coffee maker to the Four Winds Club of Pennsylvania very soon via truck line.  This action was approved by RAMS present.
  4. If anyone still does not have their picture in the online directory, please see Spencer or Rosey.
  5. If you would like a RAMS Patch (old Logo only), decal (old and new Logos) or need RAMS business cards, please see Spencer.

 

For the Good of the Club

  1. Check RAMS Website for other Club’s Rally Schedules. Please follow up on each event’s web site as some may be rescheduled or cancelled.
  2. 2024 Dues are $25.00 and were due on January 1, 2024.  They may be paid either by Cash or Check to the Secretary/Treasurer or via PayPal or Credit Card on the RAMS Website.
