July 8, 2023

Call to Order at 1 pm by President Greg LieVan at Exlines Pizza in Bartlett, TN.

There were 17 RAMS, and 6 motorcycle present for the Meeting.

We have one new member for this month. (sort of). George McQueen who was a RAMS Member in the past has rejoined. George lives in Cordova, TN and rides an R1150 RT.

We have 58 new and returning members for 2023.

New Business

Spencer Bennett is leading a RAMS Ride to the "Top of the Rockies Rally" in Paonia, CO. and invited anyone interested to meet with him after the meeting. Right now it looks like Frank Brunetti and Jimmie Smith were the only takers.

Greg Announced that there would be a 25% Gratuity added to the meal checks for service. The usual grumbling insued, but nobody refused to pay.

Jimmie Smith has been appointed Regional Coordinator for the BMW MOA for our region. This will give us a more direct line of input to the MOA and he will be working with Performance Plus and other Dealers to set up some programs to grow the MOA and the RAMS as well. As part of this new recruitment effort he asked if the RAMS could give a free membership to anyone who purchases a BMW from Performance Plus. After a brief discussion, Birendar MAdan amde a motion, seconded by Donna Clark, that we do so. The motion passed by acclimation. I believe this will apply to both new and used purchases as well as to current RAMS Members who make purchases.

RAMS Activity Discussion

The currently scheduled RAMS Events for 2023 are:

BMW Riders Association National Rally, September 14 - 17, 2023, at Canaan Resort and Conference Center, Davis, WV.

RAMS Fall Campout, September/October, Pickwick, TN. Last Weekend in September, September 29-30, 2023. Campsite 49 for Coffee and the four primitivbe campsites for tent camping. Same as last year.

Barber Vintage Festival, October 6-8, 2023 ay Leeds, AL.

VP Corner

VP was in Nova Scotia when last heard from.

If anyone still does not have their picture in the online directory, please see Spencer or Rosey.

If you would like a RAMS Patch (old Logo only), decal (old and new Logos) or need RAMS business cards, please get with Spencer.

For the Good of the Club

Check RAMS Website for other Club’s Rally Schedules. Please follow up on each event’s web site as some may be rescheduled or cancelled.

2023 Dues are $25.00 and were due on January 1, 2023. They may be paid either by Cash or Check to the Secretary/Treasurer or via PayPal or Credit Card on the RAMS Website.

Donna Clark brought some Ball Caps and XL Tshirts to give away to anyone interested as well as 15 and 20 year MOA Pin. All found new homes.

Rodger Moring reported that Herb & Reno Anderson were leaving Saskatchewan on Saturdat, July 8 (meeting day) and expect to be setlled in Puryear, TN by the end of the month. This location is south of their previous home in Hazel, KY in hopes of avoiding the cold winters.

We still need Meeting Host/Location for October 2023 Meeting:

September - Steve & Donna Clark at their home.

October - Open

November - Paul Rhodes Hosting, Location TBA

If you have an item you would like to see on the next meeting agenda, please get it to the Secretary by the Wednesday prior to the meeting and it will be added to the next meeting agenda.
