BMW RAMS January Meeting Minutes

21 RAMS, 5 bikes, 2 guests, were present.

 

Call to Order:

Meeting was called to order at 1:00 pm by President Greg LieVan at Taqueria la Guadalupana, 4818 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN.

  1. We have no new members for this month.
  2. We have 48 new and returning members for 2026. (27 with 2026 Dues Paid)
  3. We had 2 guests this month: Ken and Joy Wilkens were guests
  4. Thanks to meeting host: Greg LieVan

 

Old Business:

  1. Officer Elections for 2026:

Nominations for 2026 RAMS Officers are:

President:  Herb Anderson

Vice-President:  George Brewton

Secretary-Tresurer:  Spencer Bennett

There were no additional nominations from the floor and no discussion, so President Greg LieVan called for the vote on each candidate individually ans all were elected unanimously.  The transition of duties took place immediately and new President Herb Anderson continued the meeting.

3.  If you need to update your Directory picture please see Rosey or Spencer Bennett.

 

New Business:

  1. Spencer requested a preliminary headcount of those planning on attending and camping at the MOA National Rally in Essex, VT June 11-13, 2026.  This is to allow for the reservation of a suitably sized RAMS section in the Chartered Club Camping area.  There were 12 RAMS who are expecting to attend this year.  Spencer will insure the information is passed to the MOA Charter Club Camping Chair and our space is reserved.
  2. Spencer then made a motion that the RAMS rent a shelter tent, a table, and six chairs for the members use at the rally.  Total cost of the rental will be $419.00.  After a brief discussion, discussion and a second by George the motion was approved unanimously by the members in attendance.  Spencer will take care of the rental process before the deadline of April 1, 2026.

Northeast Florida BMW Rally

January 16-18, 2026

Group will  leave West Tennessee area on January 14 and spend Wednesday night in Dothan, AL.  Will contimue on to Live Oak on Thursday.

This is the 50th anniversary of the R90S winning at Daytona so MOA is having a Celebration/Rally combination March 6 & 7, 2026.  Sounds like a fun couple of days.

  1. The Vice-President thanked all who supported his campaign and discussed some of the rides he plans to conduct this coming year.  Sounds like we have a good year coming up.

  1. Check RAMS Website for other Club's Rally Schedules. Please follow up on each events’ websites as some may be rescheduled or canceled.
  2. 2026 Dues are $25.00 and were due on January 1, 2026.  They may be paid either by Cash or Check to the Secretary/Treasurer or via PayPal or Credit Card on the RAMS Website.
