September 2020 Meeting Minutes

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by President Art Manchester IV on September 12, 2020 at 1:07 pm via the Zoom Conferencing Web Application. There were 13 RAMS in attendance.
1. We have one new member for this month.
The new member is Bill Duffel who lives in Cordova, TN and rides a K1600 GTL.
2. We currently have 73 new and returning members for 2020.
3. There were no guests for the meeting.
4. Don't know when the monthly Donut Saturday at Performance Plus will restart.
5. Thanks to Meeting Host: Rose-Anne Bennett who choreographed the web set up.
New Business:
1. A RAMS only ride to Big Hill Pond State Park was suggested by Haavi Morriem. This opened up the discussion of a group ride/weekend camp out for the RAMS members.
2. The discussion of a ride/camp out eventually led to the idea of a "no host" camp out to take place on the regular RAMS Rally Weekend at Parkers Crossroads RV Park. Spencer had been in discussion with the owners and they were open to the idea but wanted to know how many would be coming so they could set aside some tent spaces for us. Cost for a tent space is $10 per night.
3. The President, Art Manchester, will compile a list of those RAMS who wish to attend and the Secretary/Treasurer will then contact Parkers Crossroads RV Park with the numbers and arrival dates. The Secretary/Treasurer also agreed to bring a coffee pot so there will be community coffee for those in attendance.
4. Cutoff date for notifying the RV Park is September 20, 2020. Please let Art know as soon as you can if you plan to attend.
RAMS Rally Update:
1. There is not RAMS Rally news for this month.
2. It was suggested that we might want to consider a "no host mini rally" format for 2021, perhaps with the poker run ride as an anchor point, rather than the traditional RAMS Rally type of event. This will be discussed in coming meetings.
VP’s Corner:
- Paul Whitworth suggested that the members get out and ride if they can, either alone or in small groups.
Old Business:
- If anyone still does not have their picture in the online directory, please see Spencer or Rosey.
- If you would like a RAMS patch (old logo only), decal (old and new logos) or need business cards please get with Spencer.
For the Good of the Club:
- Check RAMS website for rally schedules for other Club’s Rallies. Please note that many of the scheduled Rallies have been cancelled or rescheduled so please double check to be sure an event is still going on before you head out.
- It is time to consider throwing your hat in the ring for the 2021 RAMS Officers Elections. Please consider serving in one of the three officer positions. The incumbents will be pleased to answer any questions you may have about the duties of their position.
- The October 2020 RAMS Meeting will be held on October 10, 2020 at:
TBD (most likely on-line via Zoom)
Social time will be at 1230 and the meeting will be at 1 pm.
4. If you have an item you would like to see in the next meeting agenda, please get it to the Secretary by Wednesday prior to the meeting and it will be added to the next meeting agenda. This is not required for an item to be discussed, but it will make sure it gets in the mix. Send the information to: officers@bmwrams.com
Treasurer’s Report:
1. Balance in Bank plus petty cash = $7719.51
2. Petty Cash = $50.00
3. No unusual expenses for this month.
