Call to Order at 1:10 pm by RAMS President Art Manchester IV.

There were 13 RAMS on-line for the January ZOOM Meeting.

  1. We have no new members for this month.
  2. We have 34 new and returning members for 2021.
  3. Guest introductions? No Guests this month.

New Business

  1. The renting of a RAMS Hospitality Tent at the 2021 MOA National Rally in Great Falls, MT was discussed and was tabled until the February Meeting where it will be discussed and voted on.  Cost is expected to be about $400.00 for a 20X10 tent set up in the Chartered Club Camping area.
  2. We will also need to get a head count of those RAMS expecting to attend this rally so we can reserve appropriate space in the Chartered Club Camping area.
  3. There was a request from the IT Department for the issue of moving the current RAMS Directory from pdf.bmwrams.com to the RAMS web site under a secure area that would be password protected.  This will be on the agenda for the February Meeting.

 Rally News

Paul Whitworth announced that the Wilderness Rally will be held May 7-9, 2021 on the Buffalo River in Arkansas.  Further details will be coming.

VP Corner

VP wishes to encourage everyone to ride as much as you can. It is definitely a "socially distanced" activity.

For the Good of the Club

  1. Check RAMS Website for other Club’s Rally Schedules.  Please follow up on each event’s web site as some may be rescheduled or cancelled due to State or local Covid situations.

2. 2021 RAMS Officers:

2021 RAMS Officers are:

President: Greg LieVan

Vice President: Jimmy Smith

Secretary/Treasurer: Spencer Bennett

Contact information for them may be found in the RAMS On-Line Club Directory.  Please continue your support of these new Officers as they guide us through what will likely be a challenging year.

3. 2021 Dues are due on January 1, 2021 and may be paid either by Cash or Check to the Secretary/Treasurer or via PayPal or Credit Card on the RAMS Website.

4. The February 2021 RAMS Meeting will be held on February 13, 2021 :

This is planned to be a ZOOM Meeting as the weather in February will likely not be conducive to an outside meeting.  You will receive the usual email notification with the ZOOM Link the week of the Meeting.

5. The Winner of the RAMS Christmas Spirit Contest and a $50.00 Gift Certificate generously donated by Marvin Siano of Performance Plus BMW Turner.  Since Butch's winning entry was a photo of Fred Bradly in a Santa Suit on his sidecar he felt that the prize should go to Fred.  Fred did not agree and, after some discussion, they decided to donate the Gift Certificate to the RAMS as a Door Prize for the January Meeting.  The method of selection was decided to be: “The first RAMS Member to log on to the ZOOM Meeting who was not an Officer nor an Officer Candidate” to be decided by the IT Department.  After careful review, Tim Regenold was declared to be the Winner.  Congratulations Tim, your gift Certificate is in the mail.

6. Greg LieVan has a riding suit For Sale.  It is complete with liner and is at a negotiable price.  Greg’s contact information is in the RAMS On-Line Directory.

7. Herb Anderson wanted to remind anyone going to Alaska after the MOA Rally that he and Reno are right on the way and would love to see some of the RAMS  stop off and visit.

8. If you have an item you would like to see on the next meeting agenda, please get it to the Secretary by the Wednesday prior to the meeting and it will be added to the next meeting agenda. This is not required for an item to be discussed, but it will make sure it gets in the mix.  Send the information to: officers@bmwrams.com
