This picture was taken just a few miles from the Bonneville Proving Grounds;  in the far distance horizon are the Wasatch Mtns and not much else between my old '83 R100 and the mountains.  It was a reasonable 95f that afternoon.  I will say that is one long stretch of straight highway to get to Salt Lake City.  Even Kansas is more interesting than really unchanging salt flats.

I was on my way out from Tacoma via Boise and Jackpot to meet Spencer in Salt Lake City.  After meeting up,  we rode together across southern Utah and then Nevada's Great Basin on Route 50.  That part of the world is severely lacking in people.
